A DAY FOR "FIRSTS"

Yesterday was Julia's first day of kindergarten, and my first day with all the kids in school. I can't believe that my baby is a big kindergartner. (o.k. well, maybe not big, but a kindergartner none the less.) Her backpack as you can see is ginormous, and her clothes are going to take some growing in to, but should last through the whole winter. She is so cute, and so good about getting up and getting ready in the morning. I started getting her up and ready last week when Mallorie started her first day so that she could get use to it, and she has done great.





Julia has the same teacher Mallorie had last year which was a bonus. Julia already knew the teacher pretty well, so she was a lot more comfortable. Yesterday was a busy day. I walked both the girls to school in the morning, then stayed and helped Julia with some tasks the teacher had all the students do at the beginning of the class so they could become familiar with everything, then walked back an hour later and picked up Julia, then walked over to water our garden, then walked home, then took Julia to get her whopping 6 shots for kindergarten,(5 for kinder, plus a flu shot since I thought 5 just wasn't enough.) Fortunately, we had something to compare the shots to that made her way less scared about them...She had just been stung by a bee the night before, so we were able to explain that a bee sting hurts much worse..Thank you...So after her six horrible shots, all in her two little thighs, we had to walk across the street and go visit with some of Zoe's teachers, then walk home. It had to be in the high 90's yesterday, and we were pretty exhausted, but all in all it was a very successful day.

Today was better though. She learned the letter "i" yea!!! Kindergarten must have been a lot more work though, you know how tough it can be learning that letter "i", because today she came with me to meet another one of Zoe's teachers, after begging me to not have to go, then half way through the meeting I look over and Julia is passed out on the desk. Her first year with no naps, We will see how she survives, better yet, how I survive!!!
